Buy an ant farm arena or outworld?
The above-ground habitat for ants is called the arena (also known as the outworld). Where an ant farm nest simulates the dark, underground living environment, the arena forms the area above ground. This allows us to perfectly mimic the ants' natural habitat. While the ants maintain peace and hygiene in the nest itself, this outworld is the place where you care for, feed, and observe the colony!
Why is a good outworld essential?
In nature, worker ants leave the nest to forage for food. By connecting a spacious arena, you help the ants naturally separate their functional tasks. They use this open space for:
- Foraging: Collecting seeds, insects, sugar water, and honeydew.
- Waste management: Ants are extremely clean and bring dead workers and nest waste to a fixed corner in the arena, making it easy for you to clean up.
- Exploration: Discovering new spaces, which provides a beautiful and active spectacle to watch.
Universally connectable with any type of ant farm
All our arenas are equipped with universal connection openings (10 mm) and feature high-quality, escape-proof ventilation lids. This makes them effortlessly connectable to ant farms made of gypsum, acrylic, sand, or 3D-printed materials. Whether you want to expand a compact starter set or build a gigantic XL ant city, here you will find the perfect outworld for your colony.
The perfect outdoor enclosure for your ants
The Town Square Arena (15x10x9 cm) is a high-quality, transparent outdoor world made of sturdy plexiglass. This arena is essential for any ant setup and is perfectly suited as an outdoor enclosure for gypsum, sand, or acrylic ant farms. Here, the ants mimic their natural above-ground behavior: they explore, collect food and nesting materials, and bring their waste there.
Choose your favorite style (Color List)
Make your ant setup a cohesive whole. This arena can be fully customized to your taste using the options above. Choose the edge finish that suits you:

- Green: For a botanical and lively atmosphere that complements natural setups beautifully.
Unique ventilation and smart maintenance
The Town Square is securely closed with a precisely fitting lid, featuring professional ventilation in the form of the Ant-Blox logo. This ensures continuous, healthy air circulation without the risk of escape. The lid can be easily removed entirely, making weekly maintenance—such as offering fresh sugar water or removing waste—quick and stress-free.
Easy and hermetically modular expansion
Like all modules within our ecosystem, the Town Square Arena is designed to grow with your hobby. On both sides, there is an opening where our flexible 10 mm tubing fits perfectly. This allows you to connect the arena completely hermetically to your nest parts or other arenas in an instant. Create a natural setup with the Town Hill Arena Tripod
In nature, ants live in a layered world: the dark nest is deep underground, while the worker ants forage above ground in the open air. The Town Hill Arena Tripod makes it possible to precisely replicate this natural relationship in your own ant farm! With this clever raiser, you place the arena (outer world) in a logical and natural way above the 10x15 plaster nest.
Natural connection: Nest underground, arena above ground
By raising the outer world relative to the 10x15 ant nest, a beautiful and intuitive division is created. The ants walk from their 'underground' plaster tunnels via a natural ascending line to their 'above-ground' outer world. This not only stimulates the instinctive walking and foraging behaviour of the colony but also makes connecting both parts much more visually appealing.
Spatial overview and ergonomic view
The layered construction also brings practical advantages. Because the arena is elevated, a playful, three-dimensional effect is created on your desk or cabinet. You naturally look down on the activity in the outer world, while the plaster nest underneath remains calm and clearly visible.
The advantages at a glance:
- Natural proportions: Logically places the outer world (above ground) above the 10x15 plaster nest (underground).
- Instinctive pathway: Provides a smooth, ascending connection from the nest to the arena.
- Three-dimensional setup: Gives your ant farm a deeper, spatial, and natural appearance.
- Optimal view of both worlds: Both nest life and foraging in the arena remain perfectly visible.
- Stable and secure: Keeps the elevated arena rock-solid in place.
Bring nature indoors and give your colony the ultimate, layered living environment with the Town Hill Arena Tripod!
Town Hill tripod
Take your ant city setup to new heights and place your Town Square (arena 15x10x9) above your nest area.
This way, you create the same setup for your ants as found in nature:
1. The outdoor living area -> in nature, the above-ground part.
2. The nest area -> in nature, the underground part.
You can choose the version for the sand nest (15 high) or the version for the plaster nest (10 high).
The product has a super sleek design and literally and figuratively adds an extra dimension to your ant setup.
You don't have to worry about whether this Town Hill is sturdy enough; the square construction provides a solid base and supports your arena across its entire surface! Made from high-quality acrylic.
Create a Natural Plaster Nest Setup with the City Hill Arena Stand
In the wild, ants live in a layered world: the dark nest is deep underground, while the workers forage above ground in the open air. With the City Hill Arena Stand, you can replicate this exact relationship in your own ant farm! This clever riser is specially designed to place your outworld (arena) in a logical, natural way above a spacious 20x15 plaster nest.
Natural Layering: Plaster Nest Underground, Arena Above Ground
By elevating the outworld relative to the 20x15 plaster nest, an intuitive and realistic structure is created. The ants live in the 'underground' plaster chambers and follow a natural upward path to their 'above-ground' outworld. This stimulates the instinctive climbing and foraging behavior of the workers and makes the connection between the nest and the arena visually very appealing.
Beautiful Three-Dimensional Overview for Larger Colonies
The layered setup creates a playful, spatial effect on your desk, cabinet, or display. From your seat, you have a great view of the queen, the brood, and the plaster chambers 'below', while at the same time you can easily follow the feeding activities and scouts in the elevated arena 'above'.
The Benefits at a Glance:
- Specifically for 20x15 plaster nests: Perfectly matched for combination with a 20x15 plaster ant farm.
- Natural proportions: Logically places the arena 'above ground' above the 'underground' plaster nest.
- Instinctive pathway: Provides a smooth, upward connection from the nest to the outworld.
- Three-dimensional presentation: Gives your ant farm a deeper, spatial, and natural appearance.
- Stable and secure: Holds the elevated arena firmly in place.
Give your ant colony the ultimate, natural living environment and perfectly combine your 20x15 plaster nest with the arena thanks to the City Hill Arena Stand!

2. The nest section -> in nature, the underground part.
The product has a super sleek design and literally and figuratively adds an extra dimension to your ant setup.
You don't have to worry about whether this City Hill is sturdy enough; the square construction provides a solid base and supports your arena across its entire surface! Made of high-quality acrylic.
Create an impressive XL ant setup with the Capital Hill Arena Stand
In the wild, ants live in a layered world: the dark nest is deep underground, while the worker ants forage above ground in the open air. With the Capital Hill Arena Stand, you can replicate this exact relationship for your largest colonies! This robust riser with dimensions of 25x16 is specially designed to place the Capital Arena logically and naturally above an impressive 25x40 gypsum nest.
Natural layering for large colonies
By raising the 25x16 arena relative to the 25x40 gypsum nest, an intuitive and highly realistic setup is created. This stimulates instinctive climbing and foraging behavior and makes the connection between nest and arena visually spectacular.
Maximum stability for the Capital Arena
A large ant setup requires maximum stability. The Capital Hill stand provides a rock-solid base for the 25x16 Capital Arena, while the spacious 25x40 gypsum nest fits snugly underneath.
