Ant Farm Sand set - introduction

The Ant Farm Sand is handmade from high-quality transparent plexiglass and complete because the nesting part and arena are integrated.

This ant farm sand set consists of two parts. The top is a sleek outdoor shelter, closed with a handy ventilated lid. The arena is on a display so that it is higher than the nesting part. The bottom is the nesting part. Both the nesting part and the arena can be expanded on both sides. In the long term, you can build a huge ant city.

The Ant Farm Sand is suitable for both small and large ant species, including Messor and Lasius. Due to the separate outdoor shelter, you can easily feed the colony with fruit flies and sugar water or honeydew (and the seed mixture for the harvester ants. Please note that the colony must get used to the new environment in the beginning and that they develop further from the nest tube (test tube). Growing a colony therefore requires some patience.

We supply the Ant Farm sand set including a bag with the sand loam filling, a 10ml moisture syringe for adding moisture and of course our digital booklet 'Ants are heroes'. The Ant Farm sand set is a complete Ant Farm with a great look.
 

Material - what and how is the set made?

We make this Ant Farm sand set completely with the hand in-house in the Netherlands! Due to this method of production, it is possible that you will see small irregularities in the product (such as very light spots or edges). You will only see this from very close up or with strong lighting. We naturally do our best to work as tightly and accurately as possible.

Ant colony - which ants can you keep in it?

Almost all ant colonies can be kept in this nest. Choose a colony above for the introductory prices!

Food - what food is needed?

The diet of a Lasius ant colony consists of a combination of sugar water, honeydew and fruit flies and for a Messor colony seeds are added. A food set can be ordered above.
